We bring you authentic handwoven Chanderi sarees in collaboration with Mohammad Jaman, a master weaver from the historic town of Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh. His family has been weaving Chanderi sarees for generations - they began showcasing their work at exhibitions as early as 1967, and have continued to carry forward this rich tradition with care and pride. The family’s dedication to the craft has been nationally recognized — Jaman ji’s brother, Mohammad Dilshad, was honoured with the National Merit Certificate Award in 2010 and the State Award in 2012 for excellence in handloom weaving. Chanderi sarees are often described as “woven air” — celebrated for their sheer texture, feather-light drape, and timeless elegance. These sarees are crafted using traditional handloom techniques and feature delicate motifs and a subtle shimmer that reflect Chanderi’s centuries-old textile heritage. Their craftsmanship is also protected under India’s Geographical Indications (GI) tag, which ensures that only sarees made in Chanderi using traditional methods can be called Chanderi sarees.
