I am extremely impressed about how Simeen has conceptualized this novel process of connecting weavers/ craftsmen with the end users and facilitating the mobilizing of products directly from the loom/ craftspeople. It may seem easy to many, but its certainly a herculean task from identifying the cluster, reaching out, from planning right upto execution.
I consider myself fortunate to have chanced upon Live From Loom and bought from them, because not only are the products authentic, but it also gives one the chance to contribute to the sutainance of our arts crafts and handlooms, wherein the entire payment reaches the weaver/ craftsperson directly ; not to mention the vast knowledge that is shared with us during the lives and the recordings.

There’s no way better to go local than Live from Loom.Every penny truly invested in the artisan’s art, and every sari weaving a tale, not just fabric. The quality checks are on point. The honesty of the team is impeccable. When I picked, it was sold out. They tried to arrange it in a different colour, but told me upfront that theydidn’t deliver it because it didn’t pass the quality check. Where do you get this honesty, really? It’s amazing to hear from the artisan himself and know where your sari is coming from and the labour that went into it! Ditch the brands that only claim to be local and join Live from Loom- if you see it, you will believe it!
I enjoyed watching the Live session with the artisans, got to know a lot about the craft. Have brought Maheshwari sarees before but never knew what Maheshwari art means. Brought one saree, received it in great condition way better than the product images showed on the website. One improvement that can be done is to focus the camera on the fabric when you are showcasing the details of the design. Keep doing this work. Best wishes.
